Consignment Terms

  • TDR retains the right to return any piece at its discretion that it deems unfit for further rental due to subpar garment condition, lack of appeal, among others.
  • The Consignor is accountable for their own accounting and tax obligations.
  • Upon request, TDR will provide a statement detailing total income accrued over a specific period.
  • TDR absolves itself from liability for what it characterises as normal wear and tear on your consigned item(s).
  • You accept that should your item be damaged and this is repairable, we will cover the cost of repair.
  • Should it not be repairable, or if the item is lost or stolen, we’ll do everything we can to get reimbursement from the renter to pay you a fair market value for the item, as calculated by us using our knowledge of the rental and resale market.
  • This calculated value will take into account the purchase price of the item, its age, estimated resale value, and how many rentals it has had.
  • On the rare occasion we aren't able to recoup the replacement cost from the renter we are not able to cover this.
  • If you want to wear your item while it's consigned to TDR Rentals just get in touch with us on hello@thedressroom.co.nz and we will help you book it out, so long has it hasn't been previously booked for your dates.
  • Payouts from your rental commission will be issued to the consignor's bank account on the 20th day of each following month for successful rentals in the previous month.
  • Commission is 50% of each rental fee less a $15 fee for shipping, cleaning, and associated rental operations.
  • Consigned items may be selected for 'at-home' try-ons with no compensation given.
  • In line with marketing strategy, TDR provides consignor's items to ambassadors free of charge for promotion. No rental payment will be due in this case.
  • TDR retains the right to revise these terms at any given time.
  • If transferring your consignment(s) from Designer Wardrobe (DW Rentals) - any previously agreed-upon consignment terms with DW Rentals are now voided upon the acceptance of these revised terms.
